When Arabs began to interact with non-Arabs and Islam expanded, errors in Quranic recitation began to arise, prompting academics to write down the guidelines. There was no need for people to learn Tajweed at the time of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), because they spoke in what is now known as Tajweed, therefore it came naturally to them. We pay them their dues by examining the features of each letter that are present in them at times but not at others. By studying the key qualities of each letter, we grant the letters their rights. When applied to the Quran, it indicates that when we recite the Quran, we give each letter of the Quran its own rights and dues of characteristics, and we follow the laws that apply to those letters in various situations. Its basic letters are the same as those of the word in Arabic Jayyid, which meaning good. Tajweed is an Arabic term that signifies competency or performing something well.
